My frozen banana pops are a healthy, good-for-you goodie that is sure to satisfy your sweet tooth without the guilt!

I am not usually a dessert person. I prefer to have an appetizer, soup or salad. Sometimes I do like a little sweet treat. Definitely cheesecake at Christmas, pie at Thanksgiving and a Creme de Menthe parfait on Mother’s Day. For those other rare times something cold and refreshing is what I crave. Italian ice or granita’s, frozen fruit pops and these chocolate covered banana’s.
These pops are super healthy! Banana’s are a great source of potassium that helps regulate blood pressure and are full of soluble fiber for cholesterol and inflammation. They are a prebiotic that help with, well, let’s just say bathroom issues. And banana’s have vitamins A, B6 and C as well as the mineral magnesium.
Dark chocolate and nuts are full of minerals which are also beneficial to our health. We have all heard that chocolate is heart healthy and boosts our brain functions. But it’s biggest benefit is that it’s just so yummy!
The Method of Frozen Banana Pops
Just 3 ingredients! Banana’s, dark chocolate and nuts!

Banana’s, dark chocolate and nuts any nut will do). The chocolate can be in a chip form or a bar.

First, prepare the banana’s by peeling and placing a popsicle stick up the center. Wooden craft sticks can be used in place of fancy popsicle sticks. Place on parchment lined sheet pan. Freeze for 4 hours.

Next, melt the chocolate chips in a narrow jar in the microwave. Do this in 15 minute increments until melted. If using a block of chocolate, melt it in a bowl placed over simmering water. Chop your nuts coarsely. Grab banana’s from freezer.

Finally, dip the banana into the jar, or bowl, of melted chocolate. Quickly roll in the nuts.

Sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you don’t!
Enjoy the “fruits” of your labor, lol or wrap in cling wrap and freeze.
Cook’s Notes:
This treat can be made by using 2 inch sliced banana’s. Freeze them for an hour, drizzle chocolate over the top and sprinkle on nuts. Or not!
Try skewered fruits too! Banana, strawberry and pineapple would be fun combination!
