Let me tell you a bit about me…I’m Hillary, mother of 3 humans (Molly, Hannah and Henry) and 6 fur babies, lover of delicious food, vintage decor, great books and sappy movies! I am truly hoping to inspire you to create a more balanced and abundant lifestyle. I’ll help guide you through healthy, classic, comfort foods straight from my kitchen along with design & creative ideas to make your home cozy and welcoming.
My Inspiration
A year ago I started on this journey with a blog called Sunday Comforts Everyday. It was exciting to start something totally new and creative. Six months in, I was starting to figure things out and decided to create a whole new look for my site. Along the way though, I came to a fork in my own path. The question was whether or not to continue the way I was going or to dig deep and hone in on what I felt called to do.
After a lot of reflection, diving into my spirituality again and taking a lot of coursework I finally made the decision to just GO down this new path. I want to convey a more spiritual nature to my site. Let me say I do not mean religious. As you navigate newer posts and pages you will come to see what I mean. I will still have the same great comfort foods, tips and tricks to make life easier, fun creative projects and design ideas, but they will be coming from a place of intention to help balance your own spiritual bodies making your physical bodies more energetic and healthy.
About Me
I have 2 degrees: one in Interior Design and one in Material Culture Studies ( art history, anthropology, archaeology and museum studies). Decorating has always been an integral part of my life. I was continually rearranging my bedroom and other rooms in my childhood home. This has not stopped! My kids rooms have been painted and re-painted, rearranged and newly designed so many times. My favorite decorating though, hands down, is for each holiday. There is nothing like the smell of scented candles, the feel of ribbons and blankets, the memories of ornaments, the look of gifts from nature and how everything pulls together.
Over the years I’ve developed a great love of cooking. There is nothing I love more than spending the day in the kitchen cooking a meal from scratch. The feel of the knife chopping, the sound of the sizzle on the stove, the smell of onions and garlic, the look of the completed dish and of course the taste. I find great joy in developing new recipes as well as revising old standards. There’s an old saying that the eyes are the doorway to the soul. In my case, I feel that food is the doorway to the soul.

So what do these things have in common? Comfort. Comfort for your soul by creating a home that you want to spend time in and healthy foods that nourish you on all levels. The ideas I share with you are meant for you to take and use your imagination to tailor to your own taste and style.
